(Principal Surveyor and Owner) Is a Veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard. He has been in the Coastal and Inland River transportation since 1995. His Coast Guard Career has provided him with several experiences and qualifications ranging from Marine Inspector, Pollution Investigator, Critical Incident System Team Management with additional Enforcement degrees. The majority of his years of service he has been employed as a Marine Surveyor and Consultant.
During that time, He has conducted marine surveys on towboats, harbor boats, hopper barges, tank barges, deck barges, rock barges, dredges, bunkering barges, facility and terminal docks, dry docks both new and old. He has conducted salvage operations on sunk towboats, tank barges, cement, deck and hopper barges. He has done several catastrophic failure surveys ranging from Engine explosions, gear box failures, fires and other degrees of engineering failures on large Inland River Tow boats. He has been admitted into the National Association of Marine Surveyors and is certified in several areas of expertise with a Hull and Machinery designation.

Our Founder Principal Consultant Jan T Haynes is a 1973 graduate of the University of Kentucky and with exception of a short stay at an engineering firm, He has been in the inland river transportation industry ever since. He has worked at shipyards both as an hourly employee and salaried. The majority of the last 48 years has been employed as a marine surveyor and consultant serving the industry’s needs.

Julie has a broad range of responsibilities, including managing office operations, human resources, finance, information technology, and facilities. She is responsible for creating and implementing policies and procedures that ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, as well as managing budgets and financial resources.

Keith is a Graduate of Livingston Central High School. He has in depth experiences in the marine industry consisting of new construction to repairs on inland river tow boats and diversity of barges. Keith has 10 years of experience as a shipyard foreman, trained competent person, certified welder and crane operator. He Joined Haynes Marrs & Associates in 2018. Since employment with HMA he has conducted a variety of surveys on tow boats, harbor boats, hopper barges, deck barges, tank barges, facility and terminal docks. Has conducted numerous salvage operations on deck and hopper barges.

Ethan is a graduate of Ballard County Memorial High-school. He has been a part of the Coastal and Inland River Transportation since 2017. Having his previous Careers at ACBL and ARTCO has provided him with experience in towing, decking and Maritime regulations. He is in the process of working towards becoming a NAMS Certified Surveyor. While being employed as a Marine Surveyor and Consultant, he has conducted surveys on towboats, harbor boats, hopper barges, tank barges, deck barges, rock barges, dredges, facility and terminal docks, and dry docks. He also has been a part of salvage operations. During the natural catastrophic event of hurricane Ida, he administered several damage barge surveys.

Tate is a graduate of Livingston County High School. Although he is relatively new to the marine industry, he has had a short stay working in the shipyard industry conducting repairs to hopper barges and boats. Tate has become proficient in conducting drafts and cargo weight assessments. He looks forward to expanding his knowledge and making a difference in the marine industry!
